If you use several Apple products together, the seamlessness with which they work is truly delightful. I experienced this today in a completely new way. I had my AirPods in my ears and was listening to the dreaded on-hold music on my iPhone while waiting for a representative from Citibank to become available. While waiting, I was on my Mac reading on of my favorite Apple blogs (macrumors.com) which mentioned (coincidentally) a new Apple commercial about their Find My service that can notify you when someone you are tracking (in this case a father’s 16 year old daughter driving alone to high school for the first time) arrives at a particular location.
I wanted to watch the video and of course hear the audio but my AirPods were connected to my iPhone, not my Mac. I clicked the Play button anyway and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could hear the audio for the commercial playing on my Mac, despite the fact that my AirPods were connected to my iPhone, while still also hearing the on-hold music from my iPhone! My AirPods were allowing me to listen to two audio sources from two difference devices at the same time without me doing anything to make that happen. That’s really something.
Yes Apple products tend to be more expensive than their competitors but this kind of integration adds more value and you get what you pay for.
